Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews

Published: September 28, 2010 by Ace
Series: The Edge #2

Cerise Mar and her clan are cash poor but land rich, claiming a large swathe of the Mire, the Edge swamplands. When her parents vanish, her clan's long-time rivals are suspect.

But all is not as it seems. Two nations of the Weird are waging a cold war fought by feint and espionage, and their conflict is about to spill over into the Edge-and Cerise's life. (Goodreads)

This book was an amazing addition to On the Edge by Ilona Andrews. I really don't know what to classify this book as yet. There is high fantasy, urban fantasy, and romance - but not strictly a paranormal romance. It is a great culmination of all those different sub-genres. I like Cerise as a character. I think she's tough and knows exactly what she has to do in order to help her family survive. It's tough trying to be the leader when your parents suddenly go missing. I'm glad we get more insight into William (who was introduced in On the Edge). Plus he's a sexy werewolf, what more could a girl ask for?

At times I found the book very hard to get through because of its length (447 pgs). Now don't get me wrong I do like reading large books (I've read the entire Outlander series and if you've read them then you know exactly what I'm talking about). I just felt like there was a lot of description for something that had very little importance.

I can't wait for the next book to come out! Fate's Edge is coming out November 29th 2011. There isn't a cover posted yet and I don't know if that release date will change. Ilona Andrews has definitely become one of my favorite authors.
